<P align="justify"> The time for whi … <P align="justify"> The time for which there are no written source that recognizably and specifically describe the conditions of the society that is the object of the research. This criterion is not, however, always followed to the letter. In Sweden and Norway, the Prehistoric Age is considered to end with the Viking Age (A.D.1050) (the [[Iron Age|Iron Age]]: Scandinavia), but for the hunting communities of the north the end point is made the Treaty of Pähkinäsaari (Nöteborg, now Oreshek) in A.D. 1323. The Prehistoric Age in Finland is considered to have ended with the Age of the Crusades, and accordingly it is chronologically gradated through different parts of the country. From the Finnish point of view, the year for Karelia (A.D.1300) is used for the whole of eastern and northern [[Fennoscandia|Fennoscandia]].
